In motion
Move across the portrait and the layered facial marks subtly shift. The expression seems to change with the viewer, making the short exclamation in the title feel different from one angle to the next.

About This Artwork
Ooh! is built around an immediate emotional reaction: wide eyes, an open mouth and a fluorescent pink cherry set against an otherwise black-and-white face. The short title gives the viewer almost no explanation, so attention returns quickly to the expression: surprise, curiosity, pleasure or disbelief can all be projected onto it. Created in 2020 across layered plexiglass, the portrait changes subtly with movement. The work shows how Fabian PhiL uses both a shifting image and a minimal title to keep interpretation open.
