In motion
The portrait remains calm while the layered hair and facial marks move subtly with perspective. As the plexiglass planes realign, depth appears and disappears without disturbing the work’s quieter mood.

About This Artwork
Old Man in Peace is a contemplative 2020 portrait where stillness in the expression contrasts with movement in the layered image. Painted on layered plexiglass, the hair and facial lines shift subtly as the viewer changes position. The effect is restrained rather than theatrical: physical depth supports a mood of calm, age and reflection. It is one of Fabian PhiL’s Signature Works exploring how a portrait can feel peaceful without ever becoming completely static.
