About This Artwork
The Last One! is a large layered portrait of Keith Richards, guitarist of The Rolling Stones. The title introduces a sense of finality and tension before the image even begins to move, while leaving its meaning deliberately unresolved. Painted across plexiglass sheets in 2017, facial lines shift into different alignments as the viewer changes position. Keith Richards’ recognisable face therefore never feels completely fixed, linking rock iconography with Fabian PhiL’s interest in gaze and perspective.
