About This Artwork

Fame or Peace centres on French actress Brigitte Bardot and the tension contained in its title: public visibility versus the search for calm. Rather than treating the portrait as simple celebrity imagery, the work asks the viewer to read Brigitte Bardot’s face through that opposition. Created in 2024 across layered plexiglass, foreground and background move in relation to one another as perspective changes. The image shifts physically while the question of fame or peace remains unresolved.
