In motion
Move from side to side and the painted marks on separate plexiglass layers shift against the face. The eyes and expression subtly realign—the early discovery that became the basis of Fabian PhiL’s kinetic technique.

About This Artwork
Blue Lady marks the beginning of Fabian PhiL’s layered kinetic approach. Created in 2011, it was the first work in which separate plexiglass layers became central to the changing image. Painted lines and facial features no longer remain perfectly fixed from one viewpoint to the next: as the viewer moves, the portrait subtly realigns. That discovery became a foundation for the later Signature Works, Pop Glasses and the broader idea behind POP ART THAT MOVES.
