About This Artwork

Wanted for Being Too Smart is a pop art portrait of Angelina Jolie in Fabian PhiL’s Pop Glasses and Wanted languages. Her intense gaze and coloured glasses establish the visual character, while the title turns intelligence itself into the supposed offence. Created in 2023 across layered plexiglass, the eyes, glasses and facial lines shift with perspective, so Angelina Jolie’s expression never appears completely fixed from one viewpoint to the next.
